Owner/Operator of BoShaVo Salon
Amanda decided early that she wanted to either become a school teacher, cosmetologist or an accountant. Hairstyling ended up being her top choice! As time went on she continued with hair, but still had an interest in teaching, now focusing on teaching cosmetology instead of elementary or high school. That lead her to get her Cosmetology Instructor license. She thought about getting a part time job in educating, but loved being in the salon too much to do anything else. So she decided to do what she always dreamed of and opened her own Salon!
For the most part it is very relaxed in the hair business, especially when she was a station/booth renter, and was basically her own boss. And although that was nice, she thinks it is awesome working for herself and owning a salon that she can call her own!
Amanda has many years of experience in the cosmetology field. While in High School she took Cosmetology classes, and in 2001 got her Shampoo License. She worked for 2 years as a Shampoo tech, and was very lucky to work for a well experienced hair stylist. During these two years she learned how to properly shampoo, blow dry, section to cut hair, formulate and mix color, as well as many other great things helpful to someone just starting out. While still assisting at the salon, she completed the remaining hours required at a Cosmetology school, and in 2003, got her Cosmetology License. Then in 2009, Amanda went back to school and got her Cosmetology Instructor license. After working with different salons and people throughout her career, she felt ready to open her own salon.
Amanda stays current in the field by voluntarily attending hands on and traditional hair shows through out the years. She is a certified Babe, DonnaBella Hair and Perfectress Extension Specialist, a certified OCS Organic Color Systems colorist, and an authorized Halo Couture extension retailer.
Amanda’s top interests include: exercise (especially running) and eating healthy and learning about holistic health and wellness. She started running when she was young and continues to do it daily. She has completed multiple 5Ks, 10Ks, half & full marathons. She loves baking sweets, Fall season and snow!
